Evolution of the permeances relating linearly the flows of hydrocarbons adsorbed in a molecular model of kerogen’s microporosity to an applied pressure gradient. Colors indicate the alkane (methane (black), propane (blue), hexane (green), dodecane (red)) and symbols the different mixtures always involving methane with propane (crosses), hexane (empty circles), dodecane (dots), propane and hexane (empty squares). The transport coefficients decay exponentially as function of the fluid concentration following a free volume theory. Overall, the permeances are inversely proportional to ni, the number of carbons of the alkane molecule.
